Osprey water reference

Hi all, I am new to MRS, and neuroimaging in general, and having difficulty processing data in Osprey. Working with a 3T Siemens Prisma, running the svs_se_30 sequence and additional sequence with “spectral suppression” on which changes the TE to 69. Is that MEGA-PRESS editing for GABA?

In post—

Osprey says it does not detect a water reference. Wondering if the scans include embedded water reference or if we need to run something separately.

If it is embedded in the TWIX data, is that a format the program is designed to deal with? Can/do we need to split it from the metabolite scans? We have phantom data available for reference if that could be helpful.

Thank you in advance for any helpful input.

@crkerr , svs_se is a PRESS sequence for unedited spectroscopy. If you wanted to run MEGA-PRESS, select svs_edit. Normally we use TE 68 ms for GABA editing unless you are doing something special. Unlike Philips and GE’s PROBE, you need to run a sepearte scan to acquire water reference for Siemens (there are new features for Ref. scan mode in newer versions of scanners that allow you to acquire water reference in one scan but I don’t know how to export those the water scans in TWIX).
