Ref scan issue with eja_svs_mpress after XA60 upgrade

Hi all,

we’re experiencing issues with the “Send ref. scans” option of the eja_svs_mpress after upgrading to XA60 (‘Select this checkbox to send the inline water and noinse reference scans ti the database in a seperate series’).

This might be another issue introduced by the XA60 upgrade. But since it has not been reported yet, it might also be us.

Has anyone else run into this after upgrading, and do you have any workarounds? Or is there a suitable github-page for this?

Thank you!
Marco

Hi Marco,

Can you clarify the problem? What exactly is the issue you’re experiencing?

I’m tagging @gosia without being certain that she will see this - you should also directly contact the CMRR group who distributes that sequence, specifically Edward Auerbach | Medical School and Małgorzata Marjańska | Medical School.

Good luck,
Georg

Hallo Georg,

thank you for your reply!

Under ‘Special’ the sequence has the option to ‘Send ref. scans’ for obtaining a separate acquisition from the same voxel but without water suppression.

This worked fine on our Prisma with XA30 - we got two ouput folders for each measurement:
20250804_S12_mpress_baseline
20250804_S12_mpress_baseline_REF

And since the upgrade we do not get the second folder anymore - even though ‘Send ref. scans’ is checked.

I will notify Edward Auerbach also.

Best,
Marco

At XA60, Osprey also doesn’t find the water reference in eja_sequences even in TWIX.
A workaround could be to use FSL-MRS. There, the reference spectrum is available.

Hey Andy,
thank you for your reply. We have not tried FSL-MRS yet, since installing the latest Sequence version seems to do the trick:

Best,
Marco

Great! Many thanks for the information that there’s been an update. We missed that.
